Working on weekends! - Dungeon


Hi, Wixu Games here! I'm happy to announce that I will be working the most on weekends! I will be uploading my weekend work on the Sunday night (GMT +8:00). So be sure to check in here on the weekends!

As for the weekdays, I'll be working, just not as much! so be sure to check here every two days or so, and watchout there might be MASSIVE updates on the weekends!

Reload system implemented - Dungeon

So I've been working on the reload system and it turned out simpler than I thought! The upgrade/tweak I was talking about wasn't even needed, I just needed make more use of the engine :P

So this has been great, and now I will move on the list (after I finish animating it of course!)

New deadline! - Dungeon

So obviously the deadline for Dungeon has been changed, after revising it for a while, I decided since now I have some commitments it's wise to start a stretch the deadline a little bit, to give me space for other things (eg. school) and it is now on the 16th of August, any comments? questions? comment below!

Full list of planned features! - Dungeon

I haven't been working on the game much, however here is the list of the next things I will be adding/messing with for the next couple of days:

- Reload animation (engine tweak/upgrade)
- Engine polishing (to ensure I don't find bugs later on and have to change a lot)
- A way to increase hit points (health)

What I'm planning on later (basic ones):
- Speech engine (player/other characters)
- Buttons (on floor)
- Keycode doors/items for them
- Dynamites (throw)
- Ancient clock

What I'm planning on down the track (more later):
- Informative scroll (puzzles..)
- Broken doors (shoot them)
- Trapdoors
- Stairs up
- Holes on ground (not confirmed)
- Currency (precious gems?)
- Special items (hidden/rare)
- Poison gas
- Shop
- Storage chest/place
- Message polishing

Spells/weapons:
- Fire spell (explodes)
- Air spell (not much confirmed)
- Magic shotgun
- Electric spell
- Machine gun

Enemies:
- Skeleton
- Ghost

- Skorpions

- Bosses (much later stage..)

Demo released! - Dungeon

I'm very happy to announce the completion of the demo of Dungeon!

After working very hard for all this time, I have a demo for anyone to try out!

Fire Breath Spell! Spiders! - Dungeon

Hello, Wixu Games still working intensively on Dungeon, Here's the picture of my progress:
That's right! there's a fire breath spell, a mana hud, and spiders!!

So I've been mostly working on the fire breath spell to make it as fun as possible, that's why I had to work on it so much! refining it was making it such a great spell that I'm now confident that there's only a few things left before the demo is released!!!! (yes that's right, a demo where you get to feel the feel of the game, you get to try a few weapons loot a few chests and kill a few enemies!!!!)

List of things to work on for the demo:
- Puzzle design
- Stage design
- Basic menu
- Player death screen
- Player checkpoint
- Enemy saves (got to decide a few things..)

Get loot and save game! - Dungeon

So I've just completed the looting system:

The mana system has been done but the hud for it hasn't been created yet, however I intend on finishing it pretty quickly.

The save system is done, I was having trouble with a very persistent bug which turned out to be pretty simple , so I was all night trying to figure out what was wrong with the saving system, eventually however, I found it, I was very happy that the saving system works so well! (can't really show you the save system, but it will be in the demo)

The demo itself will be coming within the next few days, so get ready!

Explosion, golden key, locked door, new Dungeon features!

After working on some bug fixes, I'm pleased to announce that there's now an explosion, cracked wall, a lever, key, locked door, and a close inventory button!

Here's a quick shot of it:
Some things I want to include before posting a new file:
- Proper hud
- Chests, for getting items

I'm intending on making demos instead of giving the test file from now on, since there's not much point in downloading something made for testing purposes, so I will soon be releasing a short demo of this, looking forward to it!

Working on Dungeon

Hello, and welcome to the Dungeon development blog (by Wixu Games)! Here I will update my progress on the game I'm currently working on: Dungeon, a commercial game which was inspired by just my imagination and some other dungeon games, the game itself will be based around survival, will have a story, and a massive dungeon to explore!

I've been working on the game for 7 days since the 4th July (Friday), and I've been enjoying every bit of it!

Here's a picture of the actual game, and character:



This is a show off of the inventory system, featuring not only a normal inventory, but an analysis of each item! it also allows you to use certain items such as band aid kits!

 The game is going very well so far, I've added the inventory system, and I've pretty much finished the player engine, Now I will be working on new things:
- Basic enemy
- Basic trap/hurting thing
- Basic button
- Basic lever
- Cracked wall
- Key
- Locked door
- Health fruit
- Mana orb

The game is windows only, but has windows 7 and 8 support as far as I know, if you have any problems with the game feel free to comment and I will look into it.

I'm going to work very hard on this game full-time during these school holidays. My "deadline" is the 21st of July, however with the current progress I will have to get to the 21st of July to adjust to a new deadline, although I do believe I will have time to put in a great demo of the game! (looking forward to it)
